To say that we can turn off fear like turning off a light switch would be, in most cases, an exaggeration. Unexpected events happen all the time and our reaction is most times unpredictable and uncontrollable, but as we have talked before, what comes after that is, what we can really control and decide how to act about it.
But fear appears most times for events that haven’t even happened yet, we have fear as a prevention mechanism that help us avoid damage. But what about those things that our wild imagination creates in order to avoid certain course of action?
We might “create” fear based on things that we imagine could happen, but we have no certainty that things will go the way we are imagining. But as a “protection mechanism” our mind creates images that induce fear in us to avoid taking certain actions or behaviours.
