I have heard many times of people expressing their desire to do something radical to inspire others, to become a role model to follow. Usually those people try to follow a life that does not correspond to our modern life style anymore.
You don’t need to go and live in a cave in a remote mountain in order to reach enlightenment. You don’t need to deprive yourself of all earthly possessions and become a saint to be a living example to others. (Unless that kind of life is your calling in life and fills your soul with joy of course, but as usual it is a personal decision.)
But most people this time, are required to live their life and be the best version of themselves but, in the middle of this modern chaos.
Once a very caring and wise Geshe (a Tibetan teacher) told me that it looked very peculiar to him, how many people from all over the world went to Oriental countries just to shave their heads, buy some old robes and go to the top of a mountain to meditate. But meditate about what? He asked, the real masters are those who in the middle of the city noise and chaos keep their peace of mind unmoved.
Maybe the most difficult task nowadays is inspiring the world by living your own life being yourself in a simple and sincere way.

I have always tried to live a life just outside the box, so to speak. There is a balance in this universe that we are a part of and when we feel out of balance it is usually because we are out of balance with the cycles of nature itself.

I agree with you and sometimes it is just being a steady rock that people can rely on in a crisis. When all around you are losing their heads!!

Doesn’t it just come down to being a good role model? We know right from wrong. We know how we should behave. Perhaps if we just treated people the way that we would like to be treated? For some reason that seems to be a difficult concept for some people to accept!

I’m a firm believer in living with purpose, dignity and integrity and to show kindness at all times though I’m sure I fall down on the job on occasion–this is a great reminder. Thanks. ❤

The common sense approach. Humans have a habit of complicating things. Simple and straightforward sounds good to me. 🙂

Sometimes FEAR interferes with people being themselves. Worrying all the time whether they “measure up” against other standards. If people only realized that a kind heart and an open mind shared among our population exposing each other to new understandings and feelings could make this planet a happier and healthier place to live. Dare I dream!
