I was very impressed when I listened a professor once who was explaining how our mind was not capable to understand the infinite. “Our mind is finite, therefore it cannot understand the concept of infinite”. He explained.
When they say there is a probability that “the universe was never created and it will never end” our mind immediately enters in conflict, because “eternity” is not an easy concept to grasp.
“Alice: How long is forever? White Rabbit: Sometimes, just one second.”
-Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland.
So when we say: “forever” our subconscious mind could have a different idea of its duration. And probably each person has a different idea of how long “forever” is!
Sometimes the people we thought would stay with us “forever” are the first ones to leave. And it is so difficult to accept their season with us is over. Sometimes that people´s real purpose was to show us different “ways”, introduce us to new people who will actually stay.
Try not to “attach” yourself to people, circumstances or places too much. As soon as you learn to let go of them, new and wonderful opportunities appear in your life, as if they had been waiting for you to open your arms to let them in.
“Nothing lasts forever” or so they say. The problem is we do not know and will never know, because we are not eternal.
So why it is so difficult to let go of the “old”?
