There are nowadays an overflow of products and “information” about health and fitness everywhere. Some information is very useful and comes from good sources. But most info, especially on-line literature, is just commercial-media mumbo-jumbo.

Modern medicine has advance in very impressive ways, aided by technology and chemistry, but most times you get more scared of the secondary effects of that medicine that sometimes are even worst that your original ailment.

I have talked here many times about the importance of what you allow into your mind, since that information goes deep into your subconscious mind and affects you deeply at all levels.

But equally important is to be very selective of those things you put into your physical body.

You cannot control everything that happens around you but, please be very selective with what you allow into your whole being, mentally and physically. For those things will influence your health at all levels. Therefore, that is a part of your responsibilities as well.

Gyms and Spas are a popular trend around the globe too.  You know that in order to have a well formed body you need to put your muscles under a great stress.  You pay big money to be able to use the equipment in those places so you can take your body to extremes and after lots of sweating and hard work, you see with pleased eyes the results in the mirror.

You feel so proud of yourself after a good work out, you took your body to its limits and your feel exhausted but happy for the results.

That is just wonderful.

But if we have understood the mechanics to obtain a stronger and more powerful body, through “sweat, tears and blood”, we accept it, we pay a lot of money for it, we are happy to go through that process. Then why on earth do we still complain about the tests Life puts us through?

When we need a stronger and more powerful body; we happily exercise until our body falls to the floor in exhaustion.

When we need a stronger and wiser spirit; we keep whining about the tests Life puts on our path and bitterly complain to Divinity for being so harsh and cruel with us for having no mercy on our poor old souls.

We sometimes pay more than half our salaries to take care of your body, but we pout about the money we have to donate to good causes, invest on our mental and spiritual well-being as if it was a waste of money.

We are having a big problem with our perspectives and priorities. We are allowing the media and big industries to change our lives in dramatic ways but not in a good sense.

In order to enjoy Life, we need to work on keeping the balance. Real balance does not exist. It is like piloting a plane, you have to work hard on keeping your heading despite the air currents and other phenomena that take your off course. Likewise, you need to work on your whole being to keep it in its natural state.

A healthy outside needs a healthy inside. A sound inside needs a sound outside; we need to keep both ends stable in order to live our life to the fullest. So let´s stop seeing our body as different “sections”.

You will not have a strong body sitting in the sofa all the time. You will not get a stronger, wiser body by lying on the beach all the time. And believe me, once you understand this, you will enjoy your daily challenges as much as you enjoy “suffering” in the gym.

Because in the end, in both cases, deep inside your heart, you know that every challenge, physical or spiritual, is there to make you a better you, every day.

Keep enjoying your life, for the best is yet to come…
