In a time of fast changes in technology, politics, society, ideologies and so on and so forth, being static seems to be “out of fashion”.
New discoveries in science appear and our ideas and old prejudices must change as well. Quantum physics is really weird and although it seems it cannot affect your “reality” directly, some of its effects are beginning to be understood nowadays. We are changing the way we see our universe and there will be radical changes in our mentalities and dogmas in science and religion. Yes, you have read well, there are dogmas in science too, believe it or not. But we´ll talk about it some other time. There are many stubborn “scientists” out there who prefer to look to the other side when a new idea appears, since it is much more comfortable to remain believing in the old concepts than work on understanding and testing the new ones.
Just look around you, most conflicts appear when someone tries to impose their opinion on other people’s reality. That is why we are still having endless arguing on silly subjects. There is not ONE truth, there is your truth, based on your education, life experiences, cultural background and so on and, you cannot expect other people share it, since their life experiences are different than yours. Once we all understand that, we will be ready to learn the next stage. Yes, science is changing its views as well. Remember: “Nothing is written in stone”.
Actually, if you are thinking the same, doing the same and acting the same than five years ago, please stop reading this and get up and start doing something to change that.
If you do not change your position, you will get stuck where you are and at the end of your life you will be asking yourself why on earth you didn´t live the life you always wanted.
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”
Maybe you enjoy arguing with others to let yourself know that you possess the absolute truth. Maybe you even think you win every discussion, just because the others quit the conversation in despair. But it is now time to stop that attitude and turn your eyes to what is next.
Ok, you have reached this far, you have accomplished many things in your life and you can enjoy the view of that past, applaud yourself for all you have gained and learnt and now…what is next?
Will you find yourself, a year from now, in the same place, doing the same things and talking about your past glories?
Or would you like to be enjoying new experiences, new ideas, new people and places?
Dare to dream, dare to explore and discover, dare to question your own beliefs and ideas. Accept changes, search for challenges and find those things that make you feel more alive every day.
Please, give yourself the chance to experience a new life, it is never late. I know people who even at 92 are exploring new things and planning new adventures.
The moment you decide to stop living because of your (age, health, economy, etc.) you begin to dig your own grave.
Stop trying to impose your own ideas and concepts on others and start asking yourself what will make you happier and lead you to a more fulfilled life.
Do not let death surprise you with lots of unfinished business, unfulfilled wishes and broken dreams.
If death knocks at your door tonight, will you be sorry for what you didn’t make time to accomplish? or will you feel satisfied for a life full of accomplishments and wonderful times?
Your turn to decide…
