If you look around you right now, what do you see? Or better said, do you like what you see? Are you in the place where you wanted to be a year ago? Are the circumstances as you wished them to be back then?
If you answered yes to all those questions, congratulations, you have reached the goal. But if you answered no to any or all of them, then do not worry. You are a winner anyway because, believe it or not, you are where you are meant to be right now.
Probably your goals and dreams were different and you think you are not supposed to be where you are today. But that is not so.
No matter how awful/great things were these last months, they have brought you where you are mean to be for your own good. Continue reading →
I don´t know about you but, I am just tired of seeing the opinion wars on social networks, News media, newspapers, radio, TV and even in the neighbour´s coffee table.
One side says they know what they are talking about, the other side give their “reasons” and instead of people trying to reach a common conclusion, all I see is people trying to defeat the other side.
You can see people complaining about everything but they never give an alternative solution to that situation. Politicians around the world promising to end the unemployment, hunger, war and every human problem there is, if people vote for them, but they never say how they are going to comply, of course they do not have a clue, they just want their votes.
Social networks full of people criticising their governments, their friends and neighbours, but never giving feasible propositions.
You are trying to find an exit, but darkness is all you get. You are doing the best you can with what you have and still, things don’t change and the pressure is every day higher.
You expect to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but at this moment you are afraid that could be the light of the train that is coming to run you over.
And the worst part is that the people around you, the ones who are supposed to cheer you up and support you, are the first ones to look down at you.
Your expectations and plans are high but when you don’t get there fast, people start to lose faith in you, they think that just because your plans are taking a long time to materialise, your are just a dreamer and a loser.
“Just keep going”, “You have to be strong”, “Keep your head up”, “Don’t be afraid”, “Don’t worry, be happy” and many other expressions are said very lightly by everyone when the problem is on someone else’s shoulders.
But when they have to deal with difficult times the same people who told you that in the past, get mad at you when you use the same cliches on them.
Just remember we are all humans and it is unnatural not to get worried, angry, sad, and anxious, etc. The real master is not the one who is all the time in control of his/her emotions and feelings, but the one who allows them to flow through his/her system and returns to his/her ideal frequency at a natural pace. When I have experienced something difficult or “bad” in my life, usually I took it off my mind for a while and just after the pain had gone I brought it back to my attention.
I had this tendency to look away from the hard or bad lessons in my life, since I considered that if I took all “bad” things in my life from my attention they would not affect me anymore, they would vanish and gone for ever.
But nowadays I take a different approach to those “bad and ugly” events in my life. I have learnt to appreciate them and put them in a special place in my memories, because if I hadn’t experience them I wouldn’t be here now, I wouldn’t be who I am and I wouldn’t be able to share the lessons and blessings they have brought to my life.
I am not saying I am now a masochist who enjoys suffering and having rough experiences. Not at all. What I am saying is that the tough things I am experiencing now are no longer sending me to the floor and keeping me there all the time Continue reading →
I was reading a forum where writers share their experiences, doubts and advices with other writers and, I was surprised to find out that one of the most asked questions was: Who do you all have in your life that supports your passion for writing?
Most people answered that their families were not really interested in their passion. They supported themselves and many said that they were writers because they believed in themselves.
I was very impressed to read that a big number had quitted writing because the amount of criticism they had receive and believed they were not good at all.
Some of them looked for support at local writers groups and other forums on line, where the aggression and lack of respect is amazing. Continue reading →
Many times I have question myself, the Universe, God, etc., why some of my petitions, prayers, dreams never came true. I even have felt hurt and ignored because of this.
I know we all have gone through an experience like this but, sometimes we forget it and, despite seeing later that the results we would have received were totally different to what we expected in the first place, we allow that feeling of rejection, frustration, etc., to abide in our hearts once more.
I remember a long time ago, a friend wanted so bad to travel to a big city with his friends. His parents oppose to that trip and he got very frustrated and mad at them.
He had been planning that trip for months but in the end, his grades at school had been much lower than expected and his parents decided he had not “earned” that trip. Continue reading →
Most people I know hate waiting for anything. Waiting is something so important that is amazing we all lack that skill, gift, knowledge or whatever you want to call it.
We are losing many values nowadays, but one I really am very fond of is punctuality. I consider than wasting other people’s time is one of the worst offences we can do to them. We have no idea what they had to go through in order to give us some of their time and, if we show up late or if we show no respect for their time, we have no respect for ourselves either.
