What you are not

 

I have met many people who are convinced they are what they are not. And when you hold an idea in your mind long enough, it becomes part of your reality.

The problem is, that when you are holding in your mind the wrong concept, then the outside world will cause you more harm than good.

For instance, I know a friend whose parents told him all the time he was not good at math.  They repeated him all the time he was a failure in math and other sciences. Fortunately for him and for many of us, he ended up listening to his inner voice that always told him he really liked math and he ended up being a wonderful math teacher who loves spreading his knowledge to his students and has been teaching several generations the magic of math. Grow your mind-set

I was new at that programming job, I was young and it was my first work in a very impressive environment. Everyone was much older than I and with all the experience of the world, being the elite of engineers and experts in many fields.  It was overwhelming for me.

Certainty

I think one of the hardest exercises for our belief system is when we have to let go of our need to have control of every situation in our life and allow our heart to trust that things will be alright.

You know what I mean, things begin to get nasty, then you worry and get angry, then your mental vibration begins to create more “problems” and uncomfortable situations and then you get more of those, then you get more worried and more angry and the cycle repeats, only this time things are darker than before. Resonate

To say that we can turn off fear like turning off a light switch would be, in most cases, an exaggeration.  Unexpected events happen all the time and our reaction is most times unpredictable and uncontrollable, but as we have talked before, what comes after that is, what we can really control and decide how to act about it. Who are you?

Usually when someone asks us that question we just answer with our name and probably our job position or profession.

But the real question would be, who have you decided to be?

In fact I believe that is one of the main problems, what we have decided we are.  It is not a matter of title.  It doesn’t really matter if you say you are a doctor, a barrister, an architect or any other profession.  What really matters is what you answer to yourself. Continue reading

To attract or not to attract.

I have been struggling lately with my inner self.  I have been trying to attract many things in my life with no results whatsoever.

After some inner dialogues I had to go to my inner archives section to review some old and forgotten memories about some experiences in the past.

Many times we try to get a particular result.  We want things to go a certain way, but as I commented in a former chapter, we cannot see the whole picture and therefore we don’t really know what would be the best course of actions most of the time. We just don’t want to release the control of the situation. And we are too afraid to let things go off our hands. Continue reading
