I was feeling happy that morning. I was actually enjoying that feeling of “Nothing is wrong in the world” when suddenly the left hemisphere of my brain began asking the right hemisphere what was he so happy about?
Maybe this unusual state of happiness was too suspicious for that side of the brain that is always analysing and questioning everything all the time.
So, of course he managed to find more than one “reason” to stop that “excess of happiness” and dedicate time to processing more “useful” and worrisome information.
So my mind began making a list of all those things in my past that were unfinished, unclear and unfair to my eyes so I could go back to the regular uneasiness pattern, more natural and popular these days in this world. Continue reading →
I was overwhelmed with all the instructions I had to follow in order to perform a good ceremony. After all I was a guest of the King of Tibetans, His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso, XIV Dalai Lama. And I couldn´t just miss a detail since I wanted to show all the Geshes (masters) that I was not such a lousy student after all.
But being a typical westerner, from the city and with no Buddhist background the fact of doing a ritual that took me almost 6 hours to complete was beyond my strength.

He usually looked so calmed and relaxed, I wondered sometimes if he ever got angry or nervous about something.
One day I heard he was going through a severe legal problem involving a money issue with his relatives. When I went to visit him he looked as usual, calmed and relaxed, despite the problems he was facing going to courts and having to deal with attorneys all the time.
At first I didn’t dare to ask him how he was feeling, since his attitude was clear enough as to see he was doing quite well. Continue reading →
