Follow your heart

I was surprised to see her once more. Years had passed and it was evident to the eyes, we were not the same.

I guess she thought the same about me, but besides the natural changes time inflict upon us, there was something else I couldn´t define in her.

“What is wrong?” I asked her.

“I guess everything is wrong. No, actually I am wrong” She said after a long pause.

I waited patiently until she was able to talk again. Continue reading

 What is your scorpion?

I was overhearing a group of ladies in a park, complaining about the existence of bad ugly things and people.

One of them was saying that God shouldn’t allow bad things, people or events to exist. The rest of the group around her nodded in agreement.

I continued my walk thinking that when I was a little child I had that same stance towards scorpions. I was really afraid of them. And I was so terrified of them that I attracted them by the dozens.  When we went to visit my cousins in a region where scorpions are very common, they always were amazed to see that as soon as I got to their place, little scorpions began to appear, in the walls, in the corners, under the beds (specially under the bed I used), on the ceiling, etc. Of course my fear was so STRONG that I attracted them. obviously. (This is a clear example of the Law of Attraction at work). That awful feeling of fear attracted them as soon as I was present. Continue reading

And now what?

“…So I began to visualise the end results I wanted to see in my life and then I stood there staring at the celling in silence wondering what to do next.” He said.

“Well after visualising what you want to manifest, what´s next is to follow your heart, you need to take a step towards what you want to get. If you don’t do anything, even taking a little step so your action moves the rest of the Universe, nothing is going to happen.” Was my answer.

“Ok, ok I know all that, I have read it a thousand times, but the thing is that right now, I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO! I have done everything I know I can do, I have NO idea what the next step is and I need YOU to help me to find out what should I do now. There is nothing more enervating than wishing something and having no idea what to do about it, I cannot keep staring at the ceiling my whole life.” He said desperately. Continue reading

Respect?

I was waiting for a friend outside of a doctor’s office, patience is not one of my virtues (but working on it) and sitting in a waiting room is a difficult task for almost anyone.

But I had to wait for my friend to come out so I began to browse some old magazines that were spread on the table, mainly fashion magazines and I am really not very educated on fashion (working on it) but these were old magazines so I didn’t think I could learn something new in them.

I was still trying to find something to read among those old magazines when suddenly three children screaming and running like a herd of wild lost horses irrupted into the waiting room and landed on the table right in front of me.  They “swam” on the magazines and took several of them in their hands, included the one I had in my hand, and left the room.  One of the nurses ask their mother to return the magazines, since they belonged to the hospital and the mother just answered: “Nah, my children want them, so they will take them with them”. The nurse tried once more to explain their mother that those magazines were property of the hospital and couldn’t be taken away. But the Lady just ignored the nurse and hurriedly answered that she couldn’t say no to them and left.

The nurse stood there with her mouth wide open and just returned to the front desk mumbling things. I was shocked with the attitude of that lady and I realised so were everybody who had witnessed that.

Everything happened so fast nobody could do or say anything in that moment.

A Lady who were sitting beside me just said angrily: “If those were my children I would certainly teach them some manners” And the other people in the sitting room, agreed with the lady and began to talk about how they would have scolded those little rascals.

Then at that moment my friend came out and I just told him he had miss all the action, then I explained what had just happened.

He told me that his parents had been that way with him, they never taught him to respect anyone, due to their privileged social position and that had made him a real unbearable “jerk” (his own words).

Then he told me about one time he had ended up in jail because he had convinced his girlfriend to steal some electronic devices from a neighbour´s house. He know it was something very bad but he felt it was a good way to show his parents that he really had no respect for anybody, specially them.

He knew his father would use his economic power to get him out of jail and so he did. His girlfriend remained in jail for a while too and then he forgot about that incident.

Back from the past

That street looked not as wide as usual, not as long as the picture in my mind. I grew up in that street but now it looked smaller somehow. Did the houses in that street shrink maybe under the pressure of time and space?

I haven´t been there maybe in 30 years or so. The trees were of course taller than when I lived there but some way they didn’t look that taller than in my memories.

But the houses were now shorter, the whole street not as wide and the people were all different. Continue reading

I respect your ways

I know you have heard many times that we are all different. No matter how long we have lived in the same community, in the same house and even in the same family. We have a lot in common and yet, we are still different.

You might like to add sugar in your tea, I prefer a little more cream in it instead. You might prefer a bagel with it, I prefer a ring doughnut. You might like to talk about politics, I rather skip that subject.

We can be so different in so many aspects and yet, we can share a nice tea moment, each enjoying, at the same time, our own personal pleasures. Continue reading

Look forward

I couldn’t say that he was in his best mood but, at least he was doing his best not to look too worried.  He had all his life been a fine person, a little “different” from the rest but, a decent man.

He had to sell part of his company and part of his possessions to be able to pay some of his debts. And as usually happens, more tragedies appeared in his life at that time. Deaths, illness, divorce, problems, radical changes and many other unexpected events arrived all at once.

His life was totally different to what he had been used to his whole life. Continue reading
