When I was a child I found happy faces everywhere I looked. Now it is getting more difficult to find them around. Probably as a child I did not put much attention to other people’s mood, the people I looked at was happier or I was not trained to see a sad or depressed face yet.
“Those were other times” some would answer, “People then had fewer worries, these times are more difficult” is a common response nowadays.
I am not sure how to classify it, but yes, finding happy faces is not as easy for me lately. Should I move to a different country? Well, not exactly, after travelling a lot I have found all kind of people everywhere, but thanks to the internet now you can talk to people on the other side of the planet in real time and realise that they are not having it easier there either. It does not matter if your life has been the same for years and years.
It does not matter if they tell you that your life is secured. There is no such thing. Nothing in this universe is static, secured or fixed. Even rocks have millions of atoms inside them moving all the time.
You could be worried right now about a problem that seems unsurmountable, no open doors on sight and no plausible solutions at hand.
Many times I have question myself, the Universe, God, etc., why some of my petitions, prayers, dreams never came true. I even have felt hurt and ignored because of this.
I know we all have gone through an experience like this but, sometimes we forget it and, despite seeing later that the results we would have received were totally different to what we expected in the first place, we allow that feeling of rejection, frustration, etc., to abide in our hearts once more.
I remember a long time ago, a friend wanted so bad to travel to a big city with his friends. His parents oppose to that trip and he got very frustrated and mad at them.
He had been planning that trip for months but in the end, his grades at school had been much lower than expected and his parents decided he had not “earned” that trip. Continue reading →
One of my favourite activities is walking. I try to walk as much as possible.
During these long walks I enjoy different things, from sightseeing to listen what people think and do.
The other day a tourist was trying to find his way around and while waiting for the traffic light to give us the green light to cross the street, I could listen to him asking to women how to get to the centre of the city. Continue reading →
