Why is that happening again?

I thought I had finally left the bad habit of adding salt to my food without tasting it first.  I have slowed down my eating speed quite a lot and keeping my hands away from the salt shaker as much as possible, but I have caught myself adding salt more often, to food that does not really need it.

Yes, for some strange reason (maybe my body needs a little more sodium lately) My mind keeps bringing thoughts of salty food and, that constant desire for salt is pushing my hands to grab the salt shaker more often, maybe this is just a justification, but that is a habit I need to work on immediately before it causes a bigger damage.

Same with other bad habits, and fear as well. Fear is a bad habit when you allow it to be the master of your thoughts too frequently.

How would you expect to get rid of a bad thought if you keep entertaining it all the time? Continue reading

Perfect timing

I am glad I am not the one in charge of time in this universe.

It is well known that trying to please everyone is the easiest way to end as a permanent inhabitant in the madhouse.

Can you imagine listening to every person on the planet asking you to accelerate, slow down, turn back and stop the time every second?

Sometimes you wish your day would pass really slow (like some Sundays) or you are looking forward for a date to arrive soon or, on the contrary you are dreading for a particular day to come.  So you wish you could slow down the passing of time or, in certain occasions, stop it totally. This lesson I learnt today

Many years had passed since the last time I talked to him, but it was such a nice surprise to see him again. His look was as usual strong but more relaxed at the same time. It was difficult to say what the real difference was.

We had share many years in our childhood but our paths took different directions. But now that we had found each other again it was so nice to be able to talk about the good old times and share the new as well.

After sometime of listening to his story and then taking my turn to tell mine, we were so amazed of how different our lives had been and being now sharing this little moment here and now was even more amazing. Continue reading

You are already here (Rules for standing up once more)

(These are some excerpts taken from my conference in a community centre last week) Just some highlights I chose to share with you here.

  • We lose track of our past accomplishments and endeavours under the blinding light of the things yet to be done.
  • The overwhelming feeling of looking at all the things that need to be done in front of us is a powerful feeling that most times keeps us from advancing in our personal enhancement.
  • We are so concerned with our image and the concept others have about us that we forget what it is really important: our self-perception.
  • If I had known all the aspects I needed to learn before mastering a language like Russian, I’m sure that I would never have started to learn it in the first place.
  • The only way you can accomplish something big is taking a step at a time.
  • Stop trying to look at all the things you still have to do, accomplish, learn, etc. Just concentrate on what lies right in front of you here and now.
  • Don´t ask yourself how you are going to do it please. This only increases your level of stress and uncertainty and, that will not help you in anyway whatsoever.

Inner wisdom II

Inner wisdom comes not only in the form of theory or intellectual knowledge. It is a more profound concept.

We can say it is a part of our inner baggage, a set of tools that travel with us all our life and constantly updates with the help or our experiences and tests in life.

It means to be true to our inner being and apply those tools in our daily life. Continue reading

The character

I constantly read ideas for writers on how to create the characters for their novels. The truth is that only after you have tried to write a novel, a short story, a fable, a poem, etc., you cannot imagine how difficult it really is.

For a writer to be in front of a blank page waiting to be filled with inspiration is a very frightening experience. And believe me, things get worse after the first successful novel. You are required to keep the quality of your stories or actually you are expected to write better with every new book.

So the best thing you can do if you are thinking about writing your first, second, third or 100th novel is to listen to more experienced writers so you can learn from their experiences. Continue reading

The good fear

An urgent message might come in different shapes and forms. Probably sometimes they need to arrive under the disguise of a “strong” emotion in order to force us to give it the required attention and response.

So we can call that a “good fear”. Not because I am saying that fear is good. It is like Karma, it isn’t good or bad, it just is.

But as I have mentioned before, fear has its purpose and reason to exist. So although we are in a quest to “vanish” fear in our modern society. We need to change our goal here. We CANNOT vanish fear from our hearts, it comes with our inner programming and it helps us to keep us safe from danger. Continue reading

Certainty

I think one of the hardest exercises for our belief system is when we have to let go of our need to have control of every situation in our life and allow our heart to trust that things will be alright.

You know what I mean, things begin to get nasty, then you worry and get angry, then your mental vibration begins to create more “problems” and uncomfortable situations and then you get more of those, then you get more worried and more angry and the cycle repeats, only this time things are darker than before. The answer (Personal note to self)

And he was talking so convincingly, he looked so confident that the people around him believed every word he said. His gestures, his tone, his arguments were so strong and powerful nobody doubted his word.

If he said something it had to be the absolute truth, after all he had travelled the world, and studied for so many years. Continue reading
