I cannot learn for you

For you who want to learn everything right now.

Sometimes we wish other people would know what we know, and they could do what we do and be as good as we are at doing some things.

We get frustrated when our children or those people close to us cannot see the world the same way we do.  We think that if only they could see things from our own perspective, things would be so much easier for them.

It is so difficult sometimes trying to explain some situations when we see them from the outside.  But for the people “inside” things look complex and overwhelming.  And of course, we cannot understand why they cannot see things that are so “obvious” to us.

But in these cases, we are guilty as well, we rarely stop to think than the others have a very different learning path then our own.  They do need to go through the difficulties and “problems” they are facing now in order to grow and become wiser.  In fact, you are doing the same thing right now, that is why we are all here.          Continue reading

“My life is a chaos!” said that lady with a frustrated expression in her face.

“I cannot stand it anymore, either this situation changes or I will not make it till next month”, she added with a tortured tone of voice.

I was not being nosey on purpose. I happened to be standing behind two middle aged ladies while we all waited for the traffic lights to change colour so we could cross to the other side of a big avenue.

The lady who was standing beside the first one just looked at her companion, probably as overwhelmed as her and limited her answers to nodding her head from time to time.

“Why is God so mean to me?” The first lady asked in a very loud voice. Some people around her stared at her at that moment, and in some way I felt that was her intention in the first place. But well, that is what I thought, so do not take my word for it.

Finally, the other lady told her that she should hang on and pray a lot so her situation could change soon.

The traffic light showed the “walk” sign. We all crossed the street.

I remember when I was afraid of darkness, afraid of moving on, afraid of beginning a new day, a new job, the first day of school and so on and so forth.

All those events meant just one thing: Change was about to happen.

It is not personal

I was observing an elderly man in the underground station who seem to be very upset, walking from one side to the other and talking to himself all the time.

A group of students were playing, shouting, and pushing one another near this man. Suddenly one of the students tripped and fell right in front of that man, making him fall, the old man obviously got really mad, yelling and accusing the young guy of attacking him. But the student instead of apologising and helping the old man to get on his feet again, he began answering back to him calling him blind and useless.

The elderly man of course, got even more furious and stood up trying to punch the student, most people saw the scene from this point since all the shouting had attracted their attention until that moment, but they didn’t see the beginning of the incident.

So when they saw a grown up man trying to hit a young lad, they began attacking him and this incident turned into a whole mess. Continue reading

The external

We constantly talk about our old negative ideas, beliefs and hidden concepts in our mind that keep us sunk in our depression and lack of success.

But we cannot forget that we are inhabitants of a physical universe and that there are external factors as well.

Yes, we create our reality with our feelings and thoughts. Yes, we are responsible for the things that we create and attract to our personal reality and yes, there are other people in this local reality creating and attracting their own things as well, so we are not alone and yes, we are attracting and creating those external factors as well.

Let´s imagine you are an enthusiast of motorcycles. Then you get one or more motorcycles and then attract other people who are passionate about them as well.  Then your “inner circle” could be formed by people who share your hobbies and passions. Continue reading

Severe judge

I was watching a video of my daughter dancing, in my opinion, (and I must say that I am not the typical father who sees everything his children do as marvellous and perfect), she did a very good job, but for her, she danced terribly, I tried to see the terrible parts in it, to comment with her what should be improved, but it was not as bad as she saw herself.

That reminded me when I was her age I used to see the videos of my tournaments and I was extremely critic of myself. My teachers were happy with my improvements, but to my eyes I was really lousy and clumsy in my movements. Maybe it was the little critic we all have inside? Continue reading

I grew up hearing “if you want things well done, do them yourself”.  Usually when you do team work it is very difficult to get the results you would have expected, if you had done the whole work alone.

We all have different gifts, abilities, knowledge, experiences, enthusiasm and interests, so to gather a team where every person will deliver their best to achieve certain result is a very difficult task. Continue reading

With these “Dialogs with my inner self” I always try to remind myself of those things I feel I am doing or not doing right, or where I need to clarify something.  So if you have read some of these “notes to myself” you can see I still need to clarify a LOT in my head.

I have seen lately that I am doing too many things every day and, a sense of urgency to finish everything I start, is beginning to put some pressure on my shoulders that I don’t really need now. Continue reading

Have you ever listened to a remote transmission on the radio or TV?

The person on the studio asks a question to the person who is in a location outside the studio and there is a silence of a few seconds, then the person in the remote location answers the question.  But there is this “hole” this period of time when we have to wait until the audio signal goes up to the satellite, then from there connects to the remote receptor, the reporter listened to the question and then answers it, the answer goes up to the satellite and then goes down to the receptor in the studio where is broadcast to our radio or television, all that process takes a time and that is why we have to wait a few seconds during transmissions. Continue reading
