Procrastinating your well-being

“And when I have a new house, then I will be happy” this woman said to her companion in a loud voice as if she wanted the whole world to find out.

“Then I shall know that everything I have done was worth it, all the pain, all the hard work, my suffering.”  The lady who was sitting beside her looked at her in silence.

“Then I’ll be able to smile again and know everything will be alright. “she concluded in a triumphant tone.

The lady who was travelling with her asked her after a few seconds: “how long have you waited for that to happen?”

“Thirty years” the first lady answered. Continue reading

Self-confidence

They told me this was a small event, just a few people who were interested in that old movement called “The New Thought”.  It would be a simple talk exposing some of my ideas and theories on quantum mechanics and the process of thought in the brain. Nothing too elaborated.

I felt very confident since a talk with a small group is something you can easily turn into a “chat among friends.” Nothing very complex to do.

As soon as I saw the back of the building where this reunion was taking place something strange began lurking in the back of my mind. I am sure you have plenty of stories of your own about successfully passed tests and test you will have to repeat until you pass with flying colours. Continue reading

Allow yourself to experience joy

You might be thinking that this is a misspelled sentence, but no, actually there are many people who don’t allow themselves to experience joy and happiness in many ways. And no they are not masochists, at least most of them are not.

I am not the party type, I am even not very social, funny thing to say about someone who spends time lecturing and teaching courses but it´s true.

I can be very comfortable lecturing in a room with 3500 people but when I am in a reunion with more than 20 people I usually prefer to leave early.
