Do nothing

We are living very hectic times, everything must be quick and short. We like to see a movie instead of reading the book, we strive to find shortcuts, instead of taking the time to learn and practice to do things properly. We prefer to pay to get our clothes washed and ironed instead of taking the time to do it ourselves.

We are living our lives on the fast lane.

As a civilization, we are getting lazy on many things.

But on the other hand, we are getting obsessed with exercising. We are beginning to face serious health problems due to an excess of exercise training in ways our body was not design to do. But, fashion is fashion and you need to follow it, in order to feel you are “fitting in”, right?

Otherwise, what would our acquaintances say…? Continue reading

The character

I constantly read ideas for writers on how to create the characters for their novels. The truth is that only after you have tried to write a novel, a short story, a fable, a poem, etc., you cannot imagine how difficult it really is.

For a writer to be in front of a blank page waiting to be filled with inspiration is a very frightening experience. And believe me, things get worse after the first successful novel. You are required to keep the quality of your stories or actually you are expected to write better with every new book.

So the best thing you can do if you are thinking about writing your first, second, third or 100th novel is to listen to more experienced writers so you can learn from their experiences. Continue reading

Embrace it

I have heard so many times that you have to embrace change and difficulties when they come, that I thought I had totally understood the idea. And probably I had, but as usual when it comes to apply our knowledge in real life, things become difficult.

We are all excellent for theory but when practice time arrives, the story is quite different, same thing when giving advice to others, we already know what to say to them in any situation THEY have to face, but when we are in the same predicament, all those answers and solutions vanish from our head. The difference

The little child walked every day the muddy road to go to school and back home.  The people of his village, have been complaining about the mud for a long time since it was very slippery and dangerous to walk, especially for elderly people.

The little boy liked to walk on the mud and feel its cold texture refreshing his feet.  He took his shoes off and walked all that road in bare feet so he could experience the cold mud filling his whole body with a special energy only he could feel. Continue reading

One thing you will often hear, even if you request it or not, is the opinion of the others about what you are doing or not doing right now.

Usually we are programmed to give an answer to a comment, even if it is not required from us.  We feel that if we don’t give an answer, even just an “a-ha” kind of answer, the other person will think we are not paying attention to what they are saying.

And that is not the only problem, but to take heed of the opinion of others and take it personally. Continue reading

Isn’t it fun when you ask an artist, a writer, a musician, or to any creative person what is or where their inspiration comes from? They just make a pause staring into the infinite and after a while they just answer: “I don’t know. “

I have been searching everywhere, I have been asking every creative soul I meet and I have read many interviews of the greatest creative people in history, and they all answer the same. Nobody knows what inspiration is, nor where does it comes from. Continue reading

Are you available?

If you were looking for a job right now, wouldn’t you love for someone to come and ask you: Are you available?

If you would like to go out with your friends or in a date a good way to be invited out is to let them know you are available to go out with them. Otherwise they might think you are not and never even bother to ask you. Continue reading

Begin right here

We get so overwhelmed with the everyday rush and pressure that we lost a lot of time deciding what is the best next step.  We naturally take decisions based on our past experiences and sometimes that creates a conflict that, in the end, paralyse us and keeps us from advancing.

The ideal scenario would be to consider this moment as a fresh start, so fears based on past experiences would not be a problem. Ask your self what would you like to accomplish from here? What do you want to create? Where is your passion going to lead you from this position? Continue reading
