I must admit that being focused on this present moment is not as easy as I thought.

My mind is wandering more than ever and trying to keep it in this local reality is costing me an extra effort today.

Too many things are trying to keep me from “being here” and that is so interesting to observe, because I am trying to ask myself why, something apparently so simple, is so complicated today.

Probably paying so much attention to my thoughts today is making the task more difficult or, struggling to keep my mind relaxed is what is causing the opposite effect. But nevertheless it is so fascinating to observe this process from the inside. Continue reading

Try it first! (mental note)

A bad habit I have been trying to get rid of, but I still keep hidden somewhere deep in my subconscious mind is judging something before even try it.

Many times I have seen new and strange food in my travels and immediately, even before checking its smell, labelled it as: Not good.

For instance, once it happened to me with a thick corn made tortilla-like dish from El Salvador, very popular in that country. They stuff it with cheese, beans or meat and add some tomato sauce, cabbage, relish etc.

The aspect was not that “appealing” to me in the beginning and immediately I refused to try it. But after the insistence of some local friends I reluctantly accepted to try “one little bite”. Continue reading

Pride

We hear a lot of people criticising the way others behave. We judge them according to our own parameters, but we ignore the reasons that made those people to act the way they did.

I am sure you have been judged many times, sometimes you found out later, but most times you didn’t, but I am sure you would be surprised to know how your actions impressed other people and how they made a wrong judgement, but never stopped to find out from you, the real reasons for your decisions and behaviours. You don’t have to feel great today

There are some days when you just get tired of listen to people tell you how to feel, what to eat, how to think, what to wear and so on.

Nothing is permanent, nature works in cycles, ones longer than the others, so we cannot expect to be in the same state for ever.
