It took me half a day to reach the top of that mountain, a small Buddhist sanctuary stood there lonely in the middle of nothing.
The monk in charge of that small place smiled at me as soon as I reached the entrance and invited me to seat beside him on a wooden bench by the main door.
I looked exhausted and messy after the long climb. He looked radiant and happy. I told him about my great climbing adventure as if it was a once in a lifetime odyssey. He calmly told me he goes to town twice a day, so he does that “odyssey” four times every day.
Yes, I have talked about this before, but I have seen so many more examples of this lately that I felt compelled to talk about it once more.
Yesterday I went to the market to see if I could find some fruits of the season, but first of all, I realised I didn’t really know what were the fruits of this season but, then I was able to learn a lot about fruits and their care from a pro. Continue reading →
I constantly read ideas for writers on how to create the characters for their novels. The truth is that only after you have tried to write a novel, a short story, a fable, a poem, etc., you cannot imagine how difficult it really is.
For a writer to be in front of a blank page waiting to be filled with inspiration is a very frightening experience. And believe me, things get worse after the first successful novel. There is nothing more difficult than trying to talk with someone who is angry. You ask them to listen to what you have to say, but their anger do not let them listen, really listen, they actually are not really interested in what you have to say, all they want to do is to take that awful feeling out of their system.
Even if they let you speak for a few seconds, they will immediately start talking back to you, they won’t listen to your reasons because they won’t keep that anger inside and need to get it out of them. Even if you are right they cannot see it. Continue reading →
We are not as “left alone” as sometimes we feel we are.
We are born with our own gifts and virtues but we are not completely “on our own”. We might not see it or feel it in a more tangible way but there are much more around us that our senses can perceive. Continue reading →
Just yesterday I was asking you not to receive the mental and emotional rubbish of others, so it wouldn’t pollute your subconscious mind. But I don’t want to give a wrong impression, I am not asking you to close yourself completely to the others.
There are times when the others need to be heard. And there is a big difference between receiving their waste emotional material and allowing them to let their feelings and emotions out. Continue reading →
