Darkness

Watching him eating so fast was a disgusting view.  It seemed as if he thought the world was coming to an end and he should finish his meal in advance.

I was just in the middle of the first course, when he was finishing his last. I was surprised, and at the same time a little displeased since he was not really enjoying his food.  I remained silent as he was excusing himself from the table and rushed out of the restaurant without even waiting for my answer.

I was in “judging mode” so, I thought he should learn to take more time for him to enjoy his food besides, it is unhealthy, and in some cases even dangerous to eat too fast.

I finished my meal at my own pace, and my other friend and I left the place talking about more relevant subjects. Continue reading

Do nothing

We are living very hectic times, everything must be quick and short. We like to see a movie instead of reading the book, we strive to find shortcuts, instead of taking the time to learn and practice to do things properly. We prefer to pay to get our clothes washed and ironed instead of taking the time to do it ourselves.

We are living our lives on the fast lane.

As a civilization, we are getting lazy on many things.

But on the other hand, we are getting obsessed with exercising. We are beginning to face serious health problems due to an excess of exercise training in ways our body was not design to do. But, fashion is fashion and you need to follow it, in order to feel you are “fitting in”, right?

-Yes, I know, they said that on the radio yesterday, I guess is just the way it is. We all do the same every year so let’s not worry too much about it, answered the other man.

They started laughing and continued their conversation with other topics.  I stood there just thinking on what they had just said.

I was shocked. Continue reading

Hidden messages

I was reading a funny article in a Russian magazine about the way we should interpret woman’s words, like when they say “No” they mean “Yes” when they say “No problem” it really means “Prepare for trouble” and so forth.

Although this article was written in a humorous way, it helped me to realise that we are all using that “code” in some way or another every day.

How many times have you said “Yes” when you actually wanted to say “No” and immediately after you are desperately looking to “correct” your mistake? Continue reading

Nagging

I couldn’t help laughing when I saw the face of a teenager girl who was in a table right in front of me at a restaurant yesterday.

Her mother was trying to explain to her the right way to use the fork and knife (I bet for the hundredth time), but the girl kept only rolling up her eyes and looking everywhere embarrassed someone was noticing her being tutored in pubic. Continue reading
