Labels (More notes to self)

Have you ever asked yourself why things are “showing up” in your life the way they are right now?

We are used to “attach labels” to everything around us, people, circumstances and all kind of events.

We like to use “positive” or “negative”, “good” or “bad” and so on and so forth.

But looking backwards, how many times have you see a “bad” event turn out to be wonderful in the end? How many times have you seen apparently “good” events turn your life into a living “hell”?

What about that “decent” and “wonderful” person who caused you more sorrow and pain than those you considered your worst enemies?

You see? Let’s accept once and for all, that we never see the whole scene, and that make us misplace our labels most times.

So, it could be a god option to stop that “labelling business” for a while and begin anticipating more miracles and be ready to be surprised. Continue reading

Are you collapsing?

Sometimes we feel things in our emotional bag are getting too heavy to carry around and then our inner strength fails and we end up falling down to the ground.

Besides the pain and numbness this fall causes in our heart, we finally decide to get up again, but sometimes even when we are back in our feet once more we feel our soul is shattered and we cannot put our pieces back together.

Being in this zone is something we all as humans have to experience many times in our life in order to learn and master our journey.  Yes, we all have been there and we will come back many times. What changes and shows your mastery is how long do you spend in that state. Continue reading

 Forever

I was very impressed when I listened a professor once who was explaining how our mind was not capable to understand the infinite. “Our mind is finite, therefore it cannot understand the concept of infinite”. He explained.

When they say there is a probability that “the universe was never created and it will never end” our mind immediately enters in conflict, because “eternity” is not an easy concept to grasp. Continue reading

Solitude

“So you are marrying that guy?” I asked her.

“Yes I am.” She answered with a vague look in her eyes.

“But you said you met him just two months ago” I asked her with surprise.

After a few seconds of consideration she swiftly said: “Yes, but please understand that I don´t want to be alone anymore.” Her voice was firm and I understood she didn´t want to continue this conversation Continue reading

Your new trail

“Yes, things were getting very difficult, I felt overwhelmed and every morning I tried to resist the alarm to get up because I just wanted to continue sleeping to avoid having to deal with all the mess I had created for myself”.  He looked tired but with a new light in his eyes.

He had lost his company, his home, his marriage but luckily not the love of his children.  So he was able to find a motivation to get out of the hole he had dug himself into.

“And what about you?  Were you too dwelling in your comfort zone too long? He asked. Continue reading

the next step

(Note: This is not my personal story, this is the story of a dear friend who now has a wonderful mansion outside London, he share this lesson with me and now I am sharing it with you as well. I hope we all can learn something useful from it)

I was so used to live in that house that the idea that I would leave it someday never crossed my mind.  I had lived there since I was 5 years old. It was small but very comfortable and to my eyes it had everything I needed.

I thought that house would be my home for the rest of my life. Continue reading

Blind spots

I have seen so many different techniques to avoid “blind spots” in cars that I think they could gather all the information and write a whole Encyclopaedia on the subject.

A blind spot is defined as an area around a vehicle that cannot be observed by the driver while operating it.  Those blind spots are the cause of many appalling accidents every year around the world. Continue reading

Your adventure

Two decades ago I began a great adventure. A world tour visiting 100 cities in 40 countries. We have planned to complete this tour in a year exactly, but it ended up taking more than a year an a half, yes we forget about the unexpected surprises (good and strange) you always find in every trip. Cycles

We are supposed to be naturally adapted to cycles since as soon as we are born we are living in them.

We are immediately exposed to them: the day and night cycle, feeding cycles, sleeping and awaking cycles, growing up cycles, education cycles and so on.

We live in cycles all the time, we even find some excitement when we brake our cycles to do something different and we get excited too when we start a new one. Continue reading
