There are nowadays an overflow of products and “information” about health and fitness everywhere. Some information is very useful and comes from good sources. But most info, especially on-line literature, is just commercial-media mumbo-jumbo.
Modern medicine has advance in very impressive ways, aided by technology and chemistry, but most times you get more scared of the secondary effects of that medicine that sometimes are even worst that your original ailment.
I have talked here many times about the importance of what you allow into your mind, since that information goes deep into your subconscious mind and affects you deeply at all levels.
But equally important is to be very selective of those things you put into your physical body. Continue reading →
We have talked about the importance of giving our attention to the positive things in our life. The consequences of paying much attention to the bad events in the world around us, and our responsibility as co-creators of this reality.
But remember that attention must be accompanied by intention as well; otherwise it will lack a very important ingredient. Both elements will give power to our thoughts and desires.
Intention will give a defined purpose to our visualisations and will accelerate the results.
That charged attention will inject power to whatever is directed to, and remember that as soon as you direct that attention to a different subject that energy is shifted to the new target and disappears from the former. So try not to shift to a negative thought in order to maintain the same frequency and even increase its power. Continue reading →
For some reason, I always had a negative neuronal connection linked to that expression. And when I heard a person saying it, but referring to a positive event, my mind entered in shock.
My inner logic could not understand that it could be used to describe a positive situation.
I have a dim child memory of people using it constantly to describe tragic events in their life. I cannot remember someone in particular or the situations, but I believe it was then, when I made that neuronal link with a negative connotation.
When I heard those words used in an opposite context, my mind had to rethink the meaning of the phrase and then made an adjustment in my brain to place it in a new “storage position” so I could accept the real meaning. Continue reading →
I still have problems defining when I have to stop trying to do things. On one side my mind tells me to “make things happen” and the other side says “do not force things and go with the flow”. And that is like trying to drive with one foot on the accelerator and the other on the brake at the same time.
I know, sometimes life asks you to go beyond your normal efforts in order to achieve more meaningful things and sometimes you need to allow things to freely flow because with your pressure you are only slowing things down.
I must admit that being focused on this present moment is not as easy as I thought.
My mind is wandering more than ever and trying to keep it in this local reality is costing me an extra effort today.
Too many things are trying to keep me from “being here” and that is so interesting to observe, because I am trying to ask myself why, something apparently so simple, is so complicated today.
Probably paying so much attention to my thoughts today is making the task more difficult or, struggling to keep my mind relaxed is what is causing the opposite effect. But nevertheless it is so fascinating to observe this process from the inside. Continue reading →
In the past few weeks I have seen people who began with enthusiasm and lots of energy some endeavour, some project, or some dream they had for a long time and finally decided on taking the first steps.
And in the same way we drop our new year´s resolutions after facing some obstacles, they decided to abandon theirs too.
Some years ago, a friend of mine who was a fiction writer, after writing 5 books with not many sells to show in his pocket, he decided to quit. He told me then that nobody was buying his books and he felt he was wasting his time by writing with no apparent results. Continue reading →
I have been reading everywhere about the importance to choose the people you surround yourself with. And I am not talking only about your work team, but the people you spend more time with in your everyday life.
They say we become what we eat, but we become too a little like those who surround us, human beings are imitation creatures, so we end up implementing customs, habits, ideas, concepts, movements, and many other things almost without noticing it.
Have you noticed when friends of yours share expressions, taste, manners, slang and some other characteristics that they didn’t showed before, and after sometime of “hanging out” with mutual friends or acquaintances, they begin to behave in similar ways. Continue reading →
If you look around you right now, what do you see? Or better said, do you like what you see? Are you in the place where you wanted to be a year ago? Are the circumstances as you wished them to be back then?
If you answered yes to all those questions, congratulations, you have reached the goal. But if you answered no to any or all of them, then do not worry. You are a winner anyway because, believe it or not, you are where you are meant to be right now.
Probably your goals and dreams were different and you think you are not supposed to be where you are today. But that is not so. Continue reading →
