While talking to a friend yesterday we were commenting about a friend who used to be a very solid and strong man most of his life, but the day his wife passed away, he began to lose his strength and wish to go on living.
It is always hard to lose a loved one, specially a very close person. And once we fall, getting on our feet once more is a daunting task for most of us.
After a lost, a failure, an accident, etc., things get very difficult and recovering our inner strength and peace seems almost impossible. And although time heals almost all wounds, there is always some things we can do to speed up our recovery. Continue reading →
No, I gave up a long time ago. Those typical “Yeah, right” glances and smirks, those rolling eyes and sudden changes of topic in the conversation were just too much for me.
So yes, I did give up on trying to make the others understand me.
I don´t like to watch sports on TV but if you are a man, have you tried to tell other men you don´t like it and then they look at you as if you just arrived from a distant planet in a new discovered galaxy. Continue reading →
Lately I have been finding different cases of people who are scared of being with themselves because their families think they are getting paranoiac or anti-social.
The excess of use of technology is causing many people to believe that having a quiet and reserved behaviour far from the crowds and/or common social practices is a dangerous symptom. The fear for this lack of attention from those we love is affecting our coexistence and is disturbing us now in many other ways. Continue reading →
“The wish for healing has always been half of health.” – Seneca
Nowadays the word “healing” has been taking different meanings, it can refer to physical healing, moral, mental or spiritual alleviation.
The pharmaceutical industry has been presenting an image of physical healing as something you will obtain only by the consumption of chemical medicaments. It seems we all have our own concept of healing, but have you noticed that there are people who apparently are searching for healing but that are avoiding it at the same time? Continue reading →
Reading an article about religions in the world nowadays, I arrived to the conclusion that we are reaching the point where we will have our own personal philosophy and in the end we will leave rituals and rules behind.
Sorry to talk about this, if you know me, you know I don´t like to talk about religion, sports, politics, etc. But this time I just want to rant a little about the problem of intolerance.
We can see in the media all the problems that the lack of respect for the beliefs of others are causing. Continue reading →
