Be there

Sometimes we complain about the lack of support from our family, lack of understanding from our friends and acquaintances and how much we suffer our solitude, instead of learning from it.

When we are in such states of mind, we tend to look for someone to listen to us, we want to be understood, to be supported.

But as soon as we try to find those things in others, we face a cold wall of indifference and our loneliness becomes even bigger.

We all have been there. But have you ever noticed when you were on the other side? Continue reading

It will not go away, until…

“…But I have done all the visualisations, meditations, affirmations and any spiritual exercise you can imagine, but my situation is still the same” my friend said yesterday with a desperate tone.

“I know the feeling” I answer with first hand experience.

“But I think I have done everything to change my life and circumstances but I just do not see these problems vanishing from my life”. He bitterly complained.

“I know very well what you are going through now” i told him. “It is really frustrating, but it is a natural process.”  I answered as calmed as possible. Continue reading

Knowledge

When I look at the things I have been through so far, I realise that most of my experience, those things I consider as valuable knowledge, are mostly the result of painful events.

I am able to walk now, because many times I fell down as I tried to take my first steps when I was a little child, I got up again and kept trying to imitate those people around me who were able to walk without a problem.

Solving problems in a “creative” way

“I am very good at solving everybody´s problems, I always find different options for others to follow, but I don´t understand what happens when I try to find my own solution, my mind gets blurry and I cannot think straight.” An old friend was telling me the other day.

“Maybe you are taking your own problems too “seriously” or to “viscerally” and that emotional charge is impeding you to see things clearly” I answered while understanding perfectly what he was talking about and feeling the guilt of having been there too many times already.

He looked at me with an astonished look on his eyes and quickly answered: “I am trying to be logical, I am looking at things as they are.”

“No, you are looking at the things as you are now. You are interpreting them through your own particular filters, that´s it.” I said closing my mouth really hard in order to keep more words from coming out from it. Continue reading

The Teacher

In almost every ancient tradition the role of the teacher is always mentioned with respect and reverence. At least when I was a little child we used to respect and give a very special place to our teachers, I cannot say the same is happening now, since the lack of respect for our teachers and elders will take us to bigger problems we cannot yet see clearly but we should do something about it before is too late.

But once you leave the school and begin your journey in this life, new kinds of teachers appear in different times and places just to remind you the things you already knew but keep forgetting to apply in your daily practice, or to teach you about new perspectives and methods that could help you to be a better you. For you and the rest of the planet. Continue reading
