Every day I am seeing more and more examples of the influence of the masses on very valuable people.
Thinking by yourself is something you can do very easily, but sharing your thoughts and opinions with others is what turns out to be very difficult nowadays.
I was talking the other day with some friends, and two of them began talking about international politics, one of them, the one who was most passionate about his views, was doing most of the talking, my other friend just agreed with everything the other said.
I know him well, so I couldn’t understand why he was agreeing with points of view completely opposite to his own. Continue reading →
She felt really down that morning. She had been trying to be strong for too long and that takes a lot of effort. Her strength was beginning to fade away and the despair was more than evident in her eyes.
She looked at me with the saddest eyes I have ever seen in my life. Her voice projected her inner state and after saying hello in a taciturn voice, she told me that she felt she could not bear it anymore.
Life had treated her unkindly and she has been going through a difficult period in all areas of her life.
She knew quite well, that she needed to change her attitude, thoughts and feelings so she could jump back on her feet once more. But this time she felt that was just too much for her to accomplish.
She asked me to give her just one aspect of her that could give her hope for the future.
“Tell me just one thing to make me feel strong once more” She said with a desperate voice. Continue reading →
I have heard often that deciding to begin something is a very difficult part of life. And yes, many times we waste a lot of time trying to determine what is the best course of action for our next step.
Deciding how to begin, could be very stressful but, what about starting all over again?
When you face something new you could be driven by enthusiasm, excitement, expectations and sometimes just plain ignorance of what is ahead of you.
But when you are facing something you have tried before and failed, your decisions could be loaded with anxiety to fail once more. Your past mistakes are huge ghosts difficult to overcome most times. They are there to remind you that you were there before and you did something wrong and therefore you could repeat that error once again. Continue reading →
I must admit that being focused on this present moment is not as easy as I thought.
My mind is wandering more than ever and trying to keep it in this local reality is costing me an extra effort today.
Too many things are trying to keep me from “being here” and that is so interesting to observe, because I am trying to ask myself why, something apparently so simple, is so complicated today.
Probably paying so much attention to my thoughts today is making the task more difficult or, struggling to keep my mind relaxed is what is causing the opposite effect. But nevertheless it is so fascinating to observe this process from the inside. Continue reading →
Sometimes we feel things in our emotional bag are getting too heavy to carry around and then our inner strength fails and we end up falling down to the ground.
Besides the pain and numbness this fall causes in our heart, we finally decide to get up again, but sometimes even when we are back in our feet once more we feel our soul is shattered and we cannot put our pieces back together.
Being in this zone is something we all as humans have to experience many times in our life in order to learn and master our journey. Yes, we all have been there and we will come back many times. What changes and shows your mastery is how long do you spend in that state. Continue reading →
After a long period of hardships in your life. After all the hard test have been overpowered, the most difficult thing is to leave those bad feelings behind.
Getting over a bad experience does not mean that you have to pretend the harm never existed. It just means it is no longer directing your life.
I know there are things you will not be able to forget, but at least take the power you once gave them to guide the course of your life for a while and, retake it once more.
I once thought I was not good enough and, that I did not deserve to be happy and prosperous and those thoughts governed my life for a long time. After discovering that there was no external person nor influence to blame, I decided to take that power back and manage it myself to direct it to more fruitful endeavours. Continue reading →
You might believe in the power of suggestion or not.
I am the one who is always asking you to spread “positive” thoughts all around you and I do my best to do so as humanly possible.
But yesterday I had to use that technique in an emergency and it worked.
In a facility where I teach self-defence techniques some guys decided to play a practical joke on a class mate. When he arrived in the morning I saw him in good shape and healthy, even in a good mood. Continue reading →
Have you notice how we tend to worry like crazy, have the blackest thoughts, imagine the worst scenarios, overstress our body and lose sleep and hunger like crazy?
And after all that, things work out in bizarre ways in the end.
We feel so relieved after the things were not as bad as we imagined that we forget to look back and see all those nasty details that robbed us from our health and peace of mind.
So when next test arrives, will you once again go through the same process of worrying, losing sleep and appetite and damage our body as much as we can.
When are you going to learn that life has uncommon ways to fix things? When are you going to learn that you are more than capable to handle the things that are in front of you right now? Otherwise, they wouldn’t be there. Continue reading →
I was reading a funny article in a Russian magazine about the way we should interpret woman’s words, like when they say “No” they mean “Yes” when they say “No problem” it really means “Prepare for trouble” and so forth.
Although this article was written in a humorous way, it helped me to realise that we are all using that “code” in some way or another every day.
How many times have you said “Yes” when you actually wanted to say “No” and immediately after you are desperately looking to “correct” your mistake? Continue reading →
I was trying to understand what two young girls were trying to say to each other while waiting on a platform in an underground station. They were with an adult who I assume was the mother of one of the teenagers.
It was very difficult to understand what they were talking about, but I felt relieved when I notice I was not the only one, the mother and two other ladies were in the same predicament I was. We obviously were confused with the way some words were used.
I cannot remember exactly what words they were using but, when one of them asked the other the meaning of one of those words, she gave an answer that was far from being correct. Continue reading →
