“…So I began to visualise the end results I wanted to see in my life and then I stood there staring at the ceiling in silence wondering what to do next.” He said.
“Well after visualising what you want to manifest, what´s next is to follow your heart, you need to take a step towards what you want to get. If you don’t do anything, even taking a little step so your action moves the rest of the Universe, nothing is going to happen.” Was my answer.
“Ok, ok I know all that, I have read it a thousand times, but the thing is that right now, I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO! I have done everything I know I can do, I have NO idea what the next step is and I need YOU to help me to find out what should I do now. There is nothing more enervating than wishing something and having no idea what to do about it, I cannot keep staring at the ceiling my whole life.” He said desperately.
“Ok, I understand, I have been there many times before. After you have done everything you can and/or you know you can do about it, what is next is to use the biggest force that can help you manifest in your life what you need: Gratitude.” Continue reading →
I remember a friend of mine who suffered a congenital illness and his body presented some deformities that made him feel bad. Especially during his school years for his classmates were very mean to him. He suffered a lot for that and he decided he would begin a quest to find perfection.
If he had not a perfect body, he would find perfection in other areas of his being. So, he decided to practice several sports so he could get a better physique, and he became a good boxer with great muscles. He even represented his country in the Olympic Games.
But he did not feel that his quest was complete. Having a strong body and Olympic medals was not enough and he told me he did not feel even close to perfection. Continue reading →
Do you remember that time when you thought everything was lost and there was not possible solution for that problem?
When you were a child, there were times when things appear impossible to accomplish, things like holding your spoon properly, reaching for a toy in a tall drawer, solving an addition on the blackboard while all classmates were watching you, and so forth.
Probably there were times when you felt hesitant to tell your parents you had broken their favourite vase by accident while playing with your ball inside your home. You just could not think of a way out of that situation, right?
As you advanced in your life, the tests became more challenging and the situations seemed harder. But, when you looked back, you could see that you were always able to find a solution for every tribulation you found in your way, right? Continue reading →
In a time of fast changes in technology, politics, society, ideologies and so on and so forth, being static seems to be “out of fashion”.
New discoveries in science appear and our ideas and old prejudices must change as well. Quantum physics is really weird and although it seems it cannot affect your “reality” directly, some of its effects are beginning to be understood nowadays. We are changing the way we see our universe and there will be radical changes in our mentalities and dogmas in science and religion. Yes, you have read well, there are dogmas in science too, believe it or not. But we´ll talk about it some other time. There are many stubborn “scientists” out there who prefer to look to the other side when a new idea appears, since it is much more comfortable to remain believing in the old concepts than work on understanding and testing the new ones. The afternoon was beautiful, the blue sky showed just a few clouds in the distance and the river Cherwell remained calmed as usual with a few couples punting in the distance.
My friend professor H, is very well known for his discoveries in physics and specially for his theories in quantum mechanics. But that evening, his lesson had nothing to do with the behaviour of particles or other dimensions.
He was more quiet than usual, but today he looked more distant than other times. I didn’t want to interrupt his thoughts and I just limited to walk beside him in silence.
He suddenly stopped and said in a loud voice: “Everything is just about understanding” and continued his promenade. Continue reading →
I was observing two ladies talking in a restaurant. I am not really sure if they were really communicating or just killing time. Both were trying to say too many things but never finished really an idea since they kept always interrupting each other.
I could see how one of them kept trying to expose an idea while the other was anxiously waiting for a little pause to interrupt and start talking without even let her interlocutor to finish her sentence.
They kept doing that all the time, and I could notice none of them was very satisfied with the chat. As the time passed by, they were interrupting each other more often and at the end they were both slightly annoyed with each other, so they just exchange a brief good bye and left.
I stayed there watching other people doing more or less the same in other tables. That was when they were not interrupting to start texting in their mobile phones. Continue reading →
I was standing in the middle of the gym with all my classmates staring at me amusingly watching my intents to defend myself against my opponent.
I was the smallest bloke in the class, in age and size, but at that time I was not very interested in their opinion about me.
I loved martial arts and despite of my efforts, the combat ended up really bad for me.
But in that particular moment, for some reason that was irrelevant to me and after that humiliating exercise, my teacher made a long list of all the appalling mistakes I made that time. Actually I made all the known and unknown faults listed in the manual. But I was so focused on my passion for training that it didn’t sound intimidating or discouraging to me. Continue reading →
I just received a copy of a very interesting study made by three Universities in the United Kingdom on colour perception.
They found a tribe in Africa with a language limited to three words to describe colours. One word for the dark colours, one for middle range colours and one for very light colours.
To make a long a story short, in one of these studies, they showed different illustrations with different shades of the same colour to members of that tribe and they immediately identified the two shades that had a slight difference. But, when they showed the same illustration to westerners, who did not have different words to define those shades of green, they could not find the difference or took a long time to notice it. They haven´t got different words to describe those colours, therefore those westerners couldn’t find the difference so easily.
But when the scientist showed an illustration with six green squares and one blue square, westerners immediately pointed at the blue square, but people from that tribe couldn’t find it. They have the same word to describe both colours. For them the concept was the same and as colours are concepts we create in our minds, they could not find the difference. Continue reading →
One of the most difficult things I have tried to get over with is that feeling of not doing enough to make this a better world for me and others.
Sometimes I feel so useless and powerless while trying to find a better way to do things. I wish there was an “app” in my mind to help me find the best and fastest way to accomplish those long awaited and unfulfilled dreams in my heart.
But I guess sometimes Life has a way to “help” you learn things faster and that is by giving you experiences where you can apply those things you have been reading and learning about through many different sources. But when times comes for you to “utilise” the tools you have received throughout your life, is when real “knowledge” comes.
It is really amusing to listen to those people who believe their “truth” is the only reality that exists. And you can find examples everywhere and at all levels. From regular people to professors at prestigious universities throughout the world.
We all cling to our own particular “truth” and what others think Is just unfounded rubbish. Yes, I am sure you know many examples of this as well. Continue reading →
“I just want to know the truth” I heard a by passer said with desperation. The person who was walking with him, softly answered:” But you already know the truth”. The first person acted surprised at first, but then he nodded accepting the comment and sadly looked away to the distance in silence.
Can we hide the truth so easily from ourselves? Are we really constantly avoiding to see it, even when it is “clearly “right in front of our eyes? Continue reading →
