Starting once more

I have heard often that deciding to begin something is a very difficult part of life. And yes, many times we waste a lot of time trying to determine what is the best course of action for our next step.

Deciding how to begin, could be very stressful but, what about starting all over again?

When you face something new you could be driven by enthusiasm, excitement, expectations and sometimes just plain ignorance of what is ahead of you.

But when you are facing something you have tried before and failed, your decisions could be loaded with anxiety to fail once more. Your past mistakes are huge ghosts difficult to overcome most times.  They are there to remind you that you were there before and you did something wrong and therefore you could repeat that error once again. Perfect timing

I am glad I am not the one in charge of time in this universe.

It is well known that trying to please everyone is the easiest way to end as a permanent inhabitant in the madhouse.

Can you imagine listening to every person on the planet asking you to accelerate, slow down, turn back and stop the time every second?

Sometimes you wish your day would pass really slow (like some Sundays) or you are looking forward for a date to arrive soon or, on the contrary you are dreading for a particular day to come.  So you wish you could slow down the passing of time or, in certain occasions, stop it totally. Try it first! (mental note)

A bad habit I have been trying to get rid of, but I still keep hidden somewhere deep in my subconscious mind is judging something before even try it.

Many times I have seen new and strange food in my travels and immediately, even before checking its smell, labelled it as: Not good.

For instance, once it happened to me with a thick corn made tortilla-like dish from El Salvador, very popular in that country. They stuff it with cheese, beans or meat and add some tomato sauce, cabbage, relish etc.

The aspect was not that “appealing” to me in the beginning and immediately I refused to try it. But after the insistence of some local friends I reluctantly accepted to try “one little bite”. Continue reading

Balance

I was trying to keep my balance by walking on a small line drawn on the pavement on my way back home.  I was visualising the way we sometimes try to keep the “balance” in our lives.

Have you seen how the most we try to “force” a new habit, the harder it is?

Food, exercise, positive thinking, new ideas, diets, etc.

The harder I tried to walk on the line without losing my balance, the harder it was to keep it. I easily lost it and I had to make an effort to get back “on the line”. Continue reading

Go and find out

He was a very well known actor, films and soap operas were his main activity, but as happens to every actor one day the phone stopped ringing. For a few years he was able to survive with the money he had made with his career, so he had no financial worries for a while, but when things began to look difficult he got worried and began looking for new adventures.

We talked about his other artistic talents and I asked him about some paintings and sculptures he showed me many years ago, he used to love painting and carving sculptures and he was very good at it. Continue reading

This Now

Whatever you are experiencing right now is a unique moment in this local reality. There are too many elements that make this moment totally unique and besides those “invisible elements”, those elements we have no access to and/or we cannot really understand. I am sure you can find a lot of “evident” elements that makes your here and now a unique coordinate in this space-time universe. Continue reading
