Building the new   

In a time of fast changes in technology, politics, society, ideologies and so on and so forth, being static seems to be “out of fashion”.

New discoveries in science appear and our ideas and old prejudices must change as well. Quantum physics is really weird and although it seems it cannot affect your “reality” directly, some of its effects are beginning to be understood nowadays.  We are changing the way we see our universe and there will be radical changes in our mentalities and dogmas in science and religion.  Yes, you have read well, there are dogmas in science too, believe it or not.  But we´ll talk about it some other time. There are many stubborn “scientists” out there who prefer to look to the other side when a new idea appears, since it is much more comfortable to remain believing in the old concepts than work on understanding and testing the new ones. And it was never the same…

After many years of absence, I was finally able to return to the capital of the USA.  A very dear place to me since I lived and studied there for some years.

A very impressive place with its white buildings and monuments, I was so excited to go and see how things were there now.  And yes, that was a big thing in my mind because, how would that place look to my eyes now?

Would the same people be still around? Would I find my friends and classmates living their lives as usual? What would be different nowadays? Would I like the changes? Continue reading

Shattered

Sometimes the only way to break free from a bad cycle, is allowing yourself to be completely exposed so the bad leaves your system and the new and good can come in once more.

Sometimes you need to allow yourself to be shattered in a thousand pieces, so you can gather your good pieces and leave the bad behind. Like a caterpillar that needs to renounce to be a worm in order to become a butterfly.

Sometimes you need to allow yourself to be emotionally gutted in order to clean yourself from all those years of negative energy, wrong programming and bad habits, in order to be re-created into your original state.

This time you can put your inner pieces in a different order and leave no space for those things that held you back for so long. Continue reading

Labels (More notes to self)

Have you ever asked yourself why things are “showing up” in your life the way they are right now?

We are used to “attach labels” to everything around us, people, circumstances and all kind of events.

We like to use “positive” or “negative”, “good” or “bad” and so on and so forth.

But looking backwards, how many times have you see a “bad” event turn out to be wonderful in the end? How many times have you seen apparently “good” events turn your life into a living “hell”?

What about that “decent” and “wonderful” person who caused you more sorrow and pain than those you considered your worst enemies?

You see? Let’s accept once and for all, that we never see the whole scene, and that make us misplace our labels most times.

So, it could be a god option to stop that “labelling business” for a while and begin anticipating more miracles and be ready to be surprised. Continue reading

Why is that happening again?

I thought I had finally left the bad habit of adding salt to my food without tasting it first.  I have slowed down my eating speed quite a lot and keeping my hands away from the salt shaker as much as possible, but I have caught myself adding salt more often, to food that does not really need it.

Yes, for some strange reason (maybe my body needs a little more sodium lately) My mind keeps bringing thoughts of salty food and, that constant desire for salt is pushing my hands to grab the salt shaker more often, maybe this is just a justification, but that is a habit I need to work on immediately before it causes a bigger damage.

Same with other bad habits, and fear as well. Fear is a bad habit when you allow it to be the master of your thoughts too frequently.

The plan

 

One of the things I use to hate when something unexpected happened to me, is that people, (usually my family), asked me: “now, what are you going to do?”

I was not even recovering from that event when they were already asking me, what I was going to do about something that was, well… unexpected.

Sometimes I thought it was just a typical sentence to say when something bad happened to them, but when I saw their faces really expecting a satisfactory answer from me in that moment, I knew they were really expecting that answer, and if what I answered from my confusion was not considered a good answer they immediately began to criticise and give me all the reasons why that wouldn’t work, they never gave me any good options though.

When you feel, you have to solve or answer immediately to something you never foresaw coming, your mind gets into anxiety and obviously, the decisions, words, and actions won’t be the best, coming from that mental state. Continue reading

Spiritual fitness

Most of my friends are always looking for tips and guidance to be physically fit.  This is a common trend nowadays all over the world.

But despite walking a lot, eating only healthy food and taking care of myself as much as I can, sometimes I feel the weakest and more unattended part of my being is my inner self.

So, after doing some research, I have found some tips to increase your inner strength and feel more powerful every day.

Watch your language

I just received a copy of a very interesting study made by three Universities in the United Kingdom on colour perception.

They found a tribe in Africa with a language limited to three words to describe colours.  One word for the dark colours, one for middle range colours and one for very light colours.

To make a long a story short, in one of these studies, they showed different illustrations with different shades of the same colour to members of that tribe and they immediately identified the two shades that had a slight difference. But, when they showed the same illustration to westerners, who did not have different words to define those shades of green, they could not find the difference or took a long time to notice it. They haven´t got different words to describe those colours, therefore those westerners couldn’t find the difference so easily.

But when the scientist showed an illustration with six green squares and one blue square, westerners immediately pointed at the blue square, but people from that tribe couldn’t find it. They have the same word to describe both colours. For them the concept was the same and as colours are concepts we create in our minds, they could not find the difference. Continue reading

The best I can do

I still have problems defining when I have to stop trying to do things. On one side my mind tells me to “make things happen” and the other side says “do not force things and go with the flow”.  And that is like trying to drive with one foot on the accelerator and the other on the brake at the same time.

I know, sometimes life asks you to go beyond your normal efforts in order to achieve more meaningful things and sometimes you need to allow things to freely flow because with your pressure you are only slowing things down.

The external

We constantly talk about our old negative ideas, beliefs and hidden concepts in our mind that keep us sunk in our depression and lack of success.

But we cannot forget that we are inhabitants of a physical universe and that there are external factors as well.

Yes, we create our reality with our feelings and thoughts. Yes, we are responsible for the things that we create and attract to our personal reality and yes, there are other people in this local reality creating and attracting their own things as well, so we are not alone and yes, we are attracting and creating those external factors as well.

Let´s imagine you are an enthusiast of motorcycles. Then you get one or more motorcycles and then attract other people who are passionate about them as well.  Then your “inner circle” could be formed by people who share your hobbies and passions. Continue reading
