The merry voices of fishermen coming back from a hard day of being under the Sun for hours, was mixed with the voices of hundreds of people returning home in those huge boats called Vapur.
Everybody looked tired but happy, since their workday had finished and they were free to relax and forget about their problems for a while.
The coffee shops were full of men talking and laughing as if they were the happiest people on Earth. Everything looked in order everywhere you looked.
The Bosphorus Bridge was packed with cars going both directions, loaded with people wishing to get home as soon as possible so they could share a delicious meal with their loved ones. Continue reading →
After an amazing storm I was on my way to see a client trying to find shortcuts along the way to arrive on time.
I decided to go through a park I have never visited before but, it was on the way to my client’s office. I was walking very fast and suddenly, after a curve, I found myself in front of a huge puddle.
At first I thought trying to jump over it or, slowly walk through it, but the image of a video of a car sinking in an apparently innocent puddle came to my mind. This video showed a car crossing a seemingly inoffensive puddle in a street of a big city, but it seems it was covering a huge “gap”, the car unknowingly kept advancing and suddenly disappeared into the “puddle”.
The video did not show whether the driver was able to come out alive from there, but the image remained very clear in my mind. Continue reading →
When I was a child I found happy faces everywhere I looked. Now it is getting more difficult to find them around. Probably as a child I did not put much attention to other people’s mood, the people I looked at was happier or I was not trained to see a sad or depressed face yet.
“Those were other times” some would answer, “People then had fewer worries, these times are more difficult” is a common response nowadays.
I am not sure how to classify it, but yes, finding happy faces is not as easy for me lately. Should I move to a different country? Well, not exactly, after travelling a lot I have found all kind of people everywhere, but thanks to the internet now you can talk to people on the other side of the planet in real time and realise that they are not having it easier there either. When I look at the things I have been through so far, I realise that most of my experience, those things I consider as valuable knowledge, are mostly the result of painful events.
I am able to walk now, because many times I fell down as I tried to take my first steps when I was a little child, I got up again and kept trying to imitate those people around me who were able to walk without a problem.
Every fall was painful, but that did not kept me from standing up again and keep trying. And now, thanks to that I can walk for hours and enjoy it. Continue reading →
Sometimes we feel things in our emotional bag are getting too heavy to carry around and then our inner strength fails and we end up falling down to the ground.
Besides the pain and numbness this fall causes in our heart, we finally decide to get up again, but sometimes even when we are back in our feet once more we feel our soul is shattered and we cannot put our pieces back together.
Being in this zone is something we all as humans have to experience many times in our life in order to learn and master our journey. Yes, we all have been there and we will come back many times. What changes and shows your mastery is how long do you spend in that state. Continue reading →
“Yes I am.” She answered with a vague look in her eyes.
“But you said you met him just two months ago” I asked her with surprise.
After a few seconds of consideration she swiftly said: “Yes, but please understand that I don´t want to be alone anymore.” Her voice was firm and I understood she didn´t want to continue this conversation Continue reading →
Those two words “Inner wisdom” have always represented in my mind something like a hidden treasure inaccessible to most human beings. I don’t know why but, to me, it sounded like something almost impossible to have access to. Only for a few privileged chosen ones.
But every time I had the “privilege” to have access to some information labelled as “inner wisdom” I realised that to me, this was rather “common sense”. Continue reading →
“Yes, things were getting very difficult, I felt overwhelmed and every morning I tried to resist the alarm to get up because I just wanted to continue sleeping to avoid having to deal with all the mess I had created for myself”. He looked tired but with a new light in his eyes.
He had lost his company, his home, his marriage but luckily not the love of his children. So he was able to find a motivation to get out of the hole he had dug himself into.
“And what about you? Were you too dwelling in your comfort zone too long? He asked. Continue reading →
