There are nowadays an overflow of products and “information” about health and fitness everywhere. Some information is very useful and comes from good sources. But most info, especially on-line literature, is just commercial-media mumbo-jumbo.

Modern medicine has advance in very impressive ways, aided by technology and chemistry, but most times you get more scared of the secondary effects of that medicine that sometimes are even worst that your original ailment.

I have talked here many times about the importance of what you allow into your mind, since that information goes deep into your subconscious mind and affects you deeply at all levels.

But equally important is to be very selective of those things you put into your physical body. Continue reading

Do not allow them

You wake up feeling wonderful, you had a good night and you feel happy and expectant about your day.

You are not feeling tired like other days and you know deep inside of you that this could be a wonderful day.

You wear your best coat and leave your home to conquer the world, you even see your street and the people walking around you under a different light. You are even smiling, but suddenly, a bus passing right in front of you splashes the water of a dirty puddle all over you, now your precious coat looks like rubbish and you just want to vanish into the centre of the earth.

You go back to your home and quickly fetch the fist garments you find in your closet.  Obviously, you get to your job late and, a furious boss asks you to present him the reports he has been asking you for since last week, just to find a ton of mistakes in them, so you are obliged to do them again. Young

I am happy to say I have been privileged and blessed in many ways, throughout my life I have been able to meet and work with people who have been considered the best in their particular fields and I have learnt so much from them.

I was talking to a friend who is very concerned with ageing. She is not that old but she feels her body is not responding as before and now her mind is focused on her “lacks” instead of doing something about them. (Lack of mobility, lack of concentration, lack of sleep, and so on.)

I was just telling her about those people I have known in my life and who had been very successful, and their main characteristic had been “activity”.  They keep moving all the time, they walk a lot, keep studying new subjects a lot, they are open to new ideas and subjects a lot, they exercise a lot and watch their diets a lot.

A friend of mine who is 87 years “young” has a spirit of a man of 25, he actually is much more active and enthusiast than most of the young people I know. Continue reading

Wait

Most people I know hate waiting for anything.  Waiting is something so important that is amazing we all lack that skill, gift, knowledge or whatever you want to call it.

We are losing many values nowadays, but one I really am very fond of is punctuality. I consider than wasting other people’s time is one of the worst offences we can do to them. We have no idea what they had to go through in order to give us some of their time and, if we show up late or if we show no respect for their time, we have no respect for ourselves either.

Your team

I have been reading everywhere about the importance to choose the people you surround yourself with. And I am not talking only about your work team, but the people you spend more time with in your everyday life.

They say we become what we eat, but we become too a little like those who surround us, human beings are imitation creatures, so we end up implementing customs, habits, ideas, concepts, movements, and many other things almost without noticing it.

Have you noticed when friends of yours share expressions, taste, manners, slang and some other characteristics that they didn’t showed before, and after sometime of “hanging out” with mutual friends or acquaintances, they begin to behave in similar ways. Continue reading

Your new trail

“Yes, things were getting very difficult, I felt overwhelmed and every morning I tried to resist the alarm to get up because I just wanted to continue sleeping to avoid having to deal with all the mess I had created for myself”.  He looked tired but with a new light in his eyes.

He had lost his company, his home, his marriage but luckily not the love of his children.  So he was able to find a motivation to get out of the hole he had dug himself into.
